No question
is too small

Choosing an aesthetic doctor is a significant decision. These are the questions Dr. Katie hears most often — answered with the same honesty she brings to every consultation.

"If you have a question that isn't answered here, ask it at your consultation. I'd rather answer a hundred questions than have a patient who isn't fully informed."

About Dr. Katie & The Practice
Yes. Dr. Katie Calvo is a GMC-registered physician with clinical training in the NHS. She is not a nurse practitioner or non-medical injector — she is a fully qualified doctor who has chosen to specialise in aesthetic medicine.
Most of the aesthetic market is run by non-medical practitioners. Dr. Katie brings a full clinical assessment to every consultation — meaning she evaluates whether a treatment is actually right for you before recommending it. She will tell you when something isn't necessary. That's rare.
Yes, fully. Consultations, informed consent, and follow-up care can all be conducted in Spanish. Many of Dr. Katie's patients are Spanish-speaking professionals based in London who prefer to discuss sensitive health decisions in their own language.
Yes. A growing number of Dr. Katie's patients are men, often seeking subtle improvements — softening frown lines, refreshing tired-looking eyes, or restoring lost facial volume — with the same natural, undetectable approach.
Dr. Katie sees patients by appointment only at 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm.
Consultations & Pricing
Your initial consultation is a full clinical assessment — not a sales conversation. Dr. Katie will review your medical history, assess your facial anatomy, listen to your concerns, and recommend (or sometimes advise against) specific treatments. There is no pressure, no rushing, and no upselling.
Your initial consultation is an investment in expert medical advice. The consultation fee reflects the time, clinical expertise, and thorough assessment Dr. Katie provides. Unlike many clinics, the focus is on giving you honest guidance — not on securing a treatment booking.
Never. Dr. Katie's philosophy is built on the principle that honest medical advice is always more valuable than a sale. You may leave your consultation with a treatment booked, a treatment plan to consider, or simply reassurance that nothing is needed yet. All three are equally valid outcomes.
Card and bank transfer are both accepted. Full pricing is confirmed at your consultation once a treatment plan has been agreed — there are no hidden fees.
Choose a time directly in the live calendar on the Contact page. If you would rather ask a question first, send a message through the contact form or on WhatsApp (+44 7561 598076) and you will hear back within 24 hours.
Treatments & Results
This is Dr. Katie's absolute priority. The goal is never transformation — it's enhancement. You should look like yourself on your very best day, with results so subtle that colleagues notice you look well, but can't identify exactly why. If Dr. Katie believes the expected result would be too obvious, she will say so.
This depends on the treatment. Anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3–4 months. Dermal fillers last 9–18 months depending on the product and area. Profhilo and skin treatments require a course and then maintenance. Dr. Katie will give you a full timeline at your consultation.
Dr. Katie includes post-treatment follow-up as standard. If you have any concerns about your results, you will be seen again at no additional charge. This is part of responsible medical practice, not an optional extra.
Safety & After-Care
As a GMC-registered physician, Dr. Katie is fully trained in the management of aesthetic complications — including those rare but serious vascular complications that require immediate medical intervention. She carries a full emergency kit at all times and has clear protocols in place. You are in safe hands.
Yes. Dr. Katie will decline any treatment she believes is not medically appropriate, regardless of patient request. This includes treatments on patients who show signs of body dysmorphic disorder, those with unrealistic expectations, or simply cases where the risk outweighs the benefit. This filter is what makes her practice safe.
Arrive with a clean face and no heavy makeup if possible. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before injectable treatments and anti-inflammatory medications if not medically required. Dr. Katie will send you full preparation guidance when your appointment is confirmed.
Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site are the most common effects and usually settle within a few days. Dr. Katie will talk you through what to expect for your specific treatment and how to care for the area afterwards.
